Season Two_Episode Two

Our Times is a news magazine program produced by the Video Magazine Storytelling class in the Department of Journalism at Boston University. In Season Two’s second episode Harrison McGlashan explores performing and mixing house music through the eyes of a young DJ; Casey Choung follows with a man who, when not conducting Duck Boat tours roams the streets looking for TV news crews; Taylor Coester tells the story of a dance teacher whose lessons go beyond movement and Taylor has created a video essay on a student dance club’s performance; and Emma Hagert visits a MFA student at BU who combines his passion for painting and animal rights.

Behind the Decks

Boston University junior Harrison McGlashan is an aspiring documentary filmmaker, podcaster, producer, and journalist with a passion for sports media. He reports on a young DJ who shows us the behind-the-scenes work of performing and mixing house music. 

 

 

 

Casey Choung     

  The Man on the Street

 Casey Choung, a B.U. senior majoring in journalism who aspires to be a multimedia or data journalist. Casey takes us on a trip with a Duck Boat tour conductor who in his spare time roams the streets in hopes of being a Man-on-the-Street interview for local TV crews.

Emma Hagert            

Beauty and the Bats 

Journalism and Film student Emma Hagert is interested in documenting social impact stories that inspire change in her community and beyond. In this story she visits an MFA student who combines his passion for painting and animal rights.

Taylor Coester

Dance: A Wonderful Gift     Art in Motion

B.U. senior and photojournalist Taylor Coester tells the story of a dancer/choreographer/teacher whose teaching goes beyond dance. Taylor’s second story is a video essay of the grace and movement of a performance by the Dance Theatre Group, the oldest and largest dance group at Boston University.
