Season Two_Episode Three

Our Times is a news magazine program produced by the Video Magazine Storytelling class in the Department of Journalism at Boston University. In Season Two’s third episode Jennifer Gan reports on engineering students who build their own race car; Chloe Adams takes a look behind the scenes of B.U. on Broadway as they prepare their production of Something Rotten; Aaron Montgomery travels back to his hometown to tell the story of his high school’s guitar teacher; Jennifer Gan tells the story of 3 students who created their own small businesses; Yuting Li records ‘Bee’ as she showcases her passion for cosplay; and Kristian Moravec visits a Rhode Island park to video a  laid-back game of soccer.

Transforming Skills to Service

Jennifer Gan, a double major senior in Journalism and Psychology aspires to tell human interest stories that motivate change. In her first story, she documents engineering students who build race cars from scratch and actively work to promote a more gender inclusive STEM environment. Later in her second story, Gan observes 3 student artists who have established small businesses.

  

Aaron Montgomery        

   Passing the Torch

Aaron Montgomery a junior majoring in Journalism traveled back to his hometown in Connecticut to talk with a former touring guitarist who now teaches guitar in the local high school.

Kristian Moravec 

     Getting Their Kicks

Kristian Moravec is a second-year master's student in the Journalism program at Boston University and a multimedia journalist. She visited a Rhode Island park and produced a video essay on a laid-back game of Saturday soccer.

Chloe Adams   

B.U. on Broadway

Journalism major Chloe Adams is passionate about storytelling and has experience working as a reporter for Good Morning BU. She tells the story of the BU on Broadway’s production of “Something Rotten” which puts a modern twist on Shakespeare.

Yuting Li     

Transforming into Lucy

Yuting Li is a second-year master's student in B.U.’s Journalism program at Boston University. Li drops into the cosplay community and finds Bradleigh Rinaldi as she transforms into ‘Lucy’, an iconic heroine from a cyberpunk web anime series.
